Today I’m going to talk about Raw Goat’s Milk + why I love using it in my skin-loving products. Raw milk can’t be sold or purchased in New Jersey so every so often I make the trip to Pennsylvania to pick up my raw milk, grass-fed meats, eggs, cheese + other organic goodies. I must admit that I use raw goat’s milk in my products more than I drink it.
The philosophy of J. Lexi is to use ingredients as close to their natural state as possible. So, it makes sense for me to use raw goat’s milk . . . there’s nothing more true to its natural form. I also believe that at least 90% of what we eat for skin health can be applied topically for healthy skin. Below are a few benefits of goat’s milk.
Skin Benefits of Raw Goat’s Milk
Goat’s milk has many vitamins + other essential elements to help nourish skin. These include vitamins A, E, C, some of the B vitamins, amino + citric acids, unsaturated fatty acids and zinc.
Goat’s milk contains great proteins, which help kill acne producing bacteria.
Goat’s milk contains natural cream that helps lock in skin’s moisture + allows nutrients to enter the skin.
Goat’s milk has the same pH balance as human skin, so it’s non-drying when applied topically to skin. Because of the same pH balance, goat’s milk helps relieve irritated, itchy skin can be used on sensitive skin or skin with eczema.
Goat’s milk contains lactic acid, an alpha hydroxy acid commonly included in skin rejuvenation products. Alpha hydroxy acid exfoliates to slough off dead skin cells, leaving smooth new cells at the surface.
Raw goat’s milk is excellent for skin. It helps to nourish, exfoliate, kill acne-causing bacteria + moisturize skin.
