What is Ucuuba Butter . . .

Ucuuba is a native tree of the floodplains found throughout the Amazonian region, extending to the states of Maranhão + Pernambuco. The indigenous name of the tree means grease (ucu) and tree (yba).

A few lucky ones know this extraordinary ingredient. Ucuuba Butter is the family of Nutmeg. This species prefers flooded regions, and reaches a height of 25 to 35 m and can can produce between 30 to 50 kg of seeds per year which are cold-pressed and yields around 30% Ucuuba butter – rich in anti-inflammatory antiseptic properties successful for treating rheumatism, arthritis + skin ulcerations to make soaps + aromatic candles.

The Ucuuba butter we use @ J. Lexi is cold-pressed, unrefined + organic, without the dark black out layer, so that it is softer, has a light brown color + smells wonderful earthy resembling nutmeg.

Ucuuba butter is ultra rich in Lauric, Myristic and Palmitic acid – crucial in healthy cell development, regulation of the immune system and maintenance of healthy skin + hair.

Ucuuba butter is also rich in . . .

@ J.  Lexi, my goal is to delight your senses by using as many pure raw unrefined butters+ oils, as we can.

Isn’t the Ucuuba butter in the above picture beautiful?  Look at the shading, marbling + colors on the bottom.  The Ucuuba shown in this blog post is the actual butter used in my latest batch of Sulfur + Salicylic Acid. It’s on the curing rack + will be ready by March 14th.

Those who’ve used Sulfur + Salicylic Acid experienced the skin-beautifying benefits + requested a larger bar to help combat body acne or “bacne” . . . your wish is my command, the Sulfur + Salicylic Acid body bar will also be ready March 14th.
